DATA ACQUISITION |
The 5180V is the largest unit of the 5000 Series offering
up to 48 input channels with a 125ms total sample rate and 27 relay
outputs. Universal input channels accept thermocouples, 2/3-wire RTD's, DC
mA (w/shunt), DC millivolts and volts (-20 to +100), potentiometer and
contact closure. Each channel is individually isolated channel to channel,
channel to electronic common and channel to ground (all 300V RMS). |
|
|
|
The 48 input channels can be configured to be updated using
Ethernet or Serial Modbus comms (no input channel hardware thus is
required) and the 48 math channels can similarly be configured for a total
of 96 points. |
|
The 5180V has 13.25 Mb internal Flash memory for secure,
short term, data storage. As standard, the 5180V has a removable PC Flash
Card slot accessible from the front. Data stored within the internal
memory can be archived to the Flash card (or floppy) on demand or at
preset intervals. The 5180V will give indication of how long its internal
memory and that of the removable media installed will last according to
the configuration of the recorder. Data is stored in a tamper-proof binary
format that can be used for secure, long term records of your process. |
|
|
Ethernet communications (FTP,
modbus/TCP and SNTP) is standard on the 5180V. The 5180V can be configured to archive
data automatically to an FTP Server. For example, a Windows 2000/XP PC
running IIS. Archiving files over the Ethernet effectively gives a secure,
infinite archiving capacity. |

Approximate duration for continuous recording of one Group of six
channels is shown in the table to the left. |
|
Serial ASCII (Bar Code Scanner Input) or Modbus
RTU digital communications is optional. Both Ethernet and Serial modbus
are available optionally as Masters for integration of remote I/O or
remote PID controllers such as the Eurotherm model 2500. |

The 5000 Series is truly designed for
todays networked world and can be accessed via a Local Area Network,
dial-up connection, Intranet or Internet. |

DATA VISUALIZATION |
The 5180V has a color SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) 12'1" TFT LCD
with cold cathode backlight, fitted with a resistive analog, Touch-Panel
designed for ease of use and simple configuration. We understand the need
for data to be represented in the most interpretable format for the
operator. The 5180V offers vertical trend, horizontal trend, vertical bar
graph, horizontal bar graph and numeric standard displays. In addition,
with the Screen Builder feature, up to four additional displays can be
customized to best reflect the given process. Any of the standard display
formats can be placed anywhere on the screen. Pictures may also be loaded
into a 5180V for use as a background image. This truly makes a standard
product into a process specific special! |
|
The Bridge
5000 software permits any remote PC user to login (Maximum of 4
simultaneously) and create a realtime process monitor. The PC will display
a window that represents any of the screens possible on the 5180V or any
5000 Series to which it is connected and display live data. This software
provides unparalleled viewing and full engineering access (with strict
access control) of real-time data. |

DATA REPORTING |
Eurotherm
Review
(free) and Report
5000 are 2 software packages used for offline data analyzing and
reporting. Review enables PC based storage, display, printing and
exporting of the secure binary archive files from the 5180V. Report 5000
is an Excel plug-in used in conjunction with the Review database to
generate custom, automatic or standard template reports from Excel. Any
Eurotherm recorder data in a Review database can be accessed by Report
5000. Once the data has been transferred to the Review database, data can
be accessed by Report 5000 independently of the Review software. Report
5000 Excel Add-in is supplied on CD and works with Excel 97, 2000 or XP.
The Add-in help file is also directly accessible from the Excel help
system. |
